Susan Denman

Susan Denman is a physician who currently lives near Philadelphia. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her medical degree from SUNY Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Denman's debut novel “Liberty Loomis” was inspired by her experiences growing up on dairy farm in upstate New York and her summertime work in a Catskill Mountain resort hotel and as a nurse’s aide at Liberty Loomis Hospital. Although set in 1970, the themes of Liberty Loomis and the life lessons it teaches are timeless. While this coming-of-age story deals with the harsh realities of domestic violence, childhood abuse, autism, abortion, and political controversy, it ultimately delivers an overall message of optimism, hope and redemption.
