Austin Volz

Austin X. Volz is an educator and researcher with an international background in education research, experiential education, and program management. Austin’s international experience includes teaching in Greece, a Fulbright in Germany, and U.S. State Department fellowships in China. As a Visiting Scholar at Fudan University (Shanghai, China) he researched Chinese models of, and motivations for, liberal arts and science education. Co-author of The Elements of Education for Teachers, his writing has also appeared in the Chinese Journal of International Education, Fudan General Education, and Democracy and Education: Collected Perspectives. Synthesizing his experience as a classroom teacher, youth leadership coach, and researcher, Austin draws on this broad background to develop innovative educational programs. Austin received a B.A. from St. John’s College (Santa Fe, NM) and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Cambridge, MA).
