Dustin LaPres

Dustin LaPres (1981-Current) Was born and raised in Northwestern Michigan between his birth parents and then after 2 years in foster care, his adoptive parents with whom he lived until he left home as a young teen. He hitchhiked the American West from 1998-2001 at which time, upon returning home to Michigan; he was thrown in jail for most of the next 15 years. Dustin spent most of his adolescent years, and his adult years hopelessly addicted to alcohol and heroin. In 2013 He was given an opportunity to attend treatment at the GLRC In Northern Michigan. He's been in recovery ever since, and currently resides in Traverse City with his wife of 10 years Michele, and three Step-Children, as well as Three grandchildren. As a Poet and an Author, Dustin has doggedly pursued the truth regarding the fundamentals of the human condition and this reality we inhabit. Though deeply Philosophical , and voraciously intellectual, Dustin has a strong belief and faith in Divine Being(s) being behind our current Universe... Though deeply, deeply Spiritual, He is not generally religious in any dogmatic sense.
