Robert Loy wanted to be a writer from an early age. In his second grade school days book he wrote that he planned to be either an "author or a secret agent." He gave up on the secret agent dream when he found out how dangerous the job was. Writing seemed a lot safer. He has sold about 20 short stories to Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine and Fantasy and Science Fiction. This is his first novel, and although he has started work on a second, judging by how long it took him to complete this one, he might not live long enough to finish it. He has four children and four grandchildren of whom he is immensely proud, and he is married to the most fascinating woman in the world, with whom he is immensely enamored.
