Lew Marschall

Lew Marschall (born 1981) is among the best-known German LitRPG authors and a regular guest at the Leipzig Book Fair.

When he’s not writing, Lew juggles life as a dad and entrepreneur – two professions that tend to blow up in your face the moment you think you’ve got them under control.

A computer science graduate, he lives in the Allgäu region of southern Germany with his family, two cats, and a dog – where, despite the calm of village life, he somehow keeps producing action-packed novels. In what little spare time remains, he enjoys bouldering, reading, and mastering the art of packing school lunches while half-asleep – or geeking out over biology, quantum physics, and climate science.

With over twenty years of experience as both player and game master in Pen&Paper and computer role-playing games, he brings a deep understanding of gaming culture to his work. Readers can look forward to humorous, philosophical, and fast-paced stories in which unusual characters take on the impossible.

After his successful five-book Heirs of the Phoenix saga, which immerses readers in a VR role-playing world, Lew created a new hero in Flunsch – The Boreas Conspiracy: space engineer Raphael Salzer, who faces intergalactic conspirators with a most peculiar superpower.

To get to know Lew better, tune in to his video podcast Flunschcast – or catch him at one of the major comic cons. He’s always happy to hand out a few XP.
