Poo now has three books to his name. His first two books, ‘A Giant called Tiny’ and ‘The Further Adventures of Goldilocks’ have just been joined by Poo’s new book, ‘Jim the Banana Smuggler’.
Poo is obviously not Poo’s real name, but he has been called Poo ever since his Granddaughter was born and his own daughter decided that’s what he would be called instead of Granddad.
Poo’s real life as an engineer is very different to the imaginary lives always going on in his head. Poo spent many years working in the North Sea Oil & Gas fields. Poo was called to help put out the oil fires and repair equipment in Kuwait after the first Gulf war and Poo was called to help prepare equipment at CERN for the Large Hadron Collider’s next phase of duty.
But Poo would rather tell stories. Poo has always been a storyteller. When his children were small they would sit together share adventures in his imaginary worlds. His heroic exploits fighting space pirates are legendary, in his family. But, children grow up and eventually the stories stopped. But now Poo has Grandchildren and they have given Poo a reason the bring the stories back to life.
Poo says, ‘The inspiration children can bring to the imagination is boundless. To escape with them into a fantasy world where they can go anywhere and the characters can do anything is magical.’
Poo's next book is already underway.
