Born in Chicago in 1953 and raised in Bucktown, RW Spryszak attended Columbia College of Chicago in 1972. He is the editor of "So What If It's True: from the notebooks of Lorri Jackson," and two surrealist anthologies.

His first novel "Edju" was published by Spuyten Duyvil in 2018. This was followed by "Drainman" in 2024. And in 2025 Sulfur Editions published "The Watchman Protocol," a novel that will be translated into French and Arabic in late 2025.

In the meantime his shorter stories have continued to appear in the small, independent press like The Vestal Review, The Irreal Cafe, and Exacting Clam.
