Johnny Armstrong

Conservationist and retired medical doctor (pathology), Johnny and his wife Karen and Opal (k-nine companion) live in a Nature Conservancy-protected old-growth forest and woodland outside of Ruston, Louisiana.

Johnny Armstrong's first novel, Shadowshine, with all the philosophical musings of its quirky yet remarkable characters, is a story of self-discovery and of perseverance, of the battle between good and wickedness, and of strong and lovable players who never give up.

His second book, Rescuing Biodiversity: The Protection and Restoration of a North Louisiana Ecosystem, is a non-fiction work that tells the story of Johnny's attempts to preserve a vanishing Louisiana ecosystem and restore the animal and plant species that once lived there.
