Mike is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned his BA in Psychology with a minor in English and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from ECU as well. Mike now lives an adventurous life in North Carolina with his wife, Danielle. He works as a school counselor and track coach where he is always encouraging others to dream big and work toward their goals. He uses running as a way to help his students build character and to realize their potential. When not working, Mike enjoys traveling with his wife. They have traveled around the United States running half marathons together and have also done some destination runs in other countries around the world. One day they hope to run a race in every state in the United States and to run a race on every continent.
Mike is also an avid baseball fan who loves the history of the game. He has umpired Little League baseball for 14 years. He has a goal of seeing a baseball game in every MLB stadium, a goal that he wishes to accomplish with his wife and daughter. Each year, Mike teams up with WingSpan Sports to write blogs in which he makes predictions about each of the MLB postseason games.
