When I was a young boy, my greatest ambition was to become a famous writer. A love of stories by favorite authors like, Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson, Herman Melville and Edgar Allen Poe fueled this need, so in spiral notebooks I spun tales of great adventures.
My imagination went wild, and even got me into trouble more than once.
As I grew older, and more... reasonable I found my want squashed by responsibilities of being a husband and father. There never seemed like there was time for anything else.
Older now, living alone, I found that love of writing once more. I discovered myself, my true self and began again.
That little boy I once was showed up and took control, leading me down a path I had forgotten so long ago. The adult me chases him everywhere he leads, and to be honest, I hope I never catch up!
Never, ever let go of your inner child. You'd be surprised, as I was, at where they might lead you.
