I am a retired biologist with 50+ years of experience. I have 22 publications in the professional, scientific literature. If you care, you can see them at www.researchgate.net/profile/Fenton_Kay. I have had four poems published in a Las Vegas, Nevada newspaper – a very long time ago. I have had several poems and three Haiga published online at eskimopie.net. I recently received an honorable mention for a poem in a writing contest sponsored by the monthly free magazine, Desert Exposure in Las Cruces, New Mexico, my residence. I currently have nine novels published through Amazon, six mysteries, a coming-of-age story, and a middle-reader-level historical novel. I am working on another mystery novel and a third-grade-level children's book with pictures.
I have an author’s webpage/blog at kaylibros.casa. I fairly regularly do local book signings at our local mall, a local bookstore, and other opportunities that present themselves. I have a stack of books next to my recliner that I am working at reading - quite eclectic - a biography of Darwin; a history of the Aztec culture; several books on ghosts, and folk tales from New Mexico; some books of history and stories from ancient Ireland; and half a dozen mysteries. I also teach online for two universities.
My wife's hobby is renovating old (100 year+) historical adobe houses, and I get caught up in that. That's what I get for being a bit of a handyman. I have two daughters and five grandchildren - three boys and two girls. Our household currently consists of my wife & me, two grandsons, six dogs, eight cats, one red-eared slider turtle in his own pond, and three aquaria ... and a monster yard full of of trees and flowers that I can't even begin to keep up with. For some reason, I seem to be as busy or busier than I was when I had an 8-to-5 job.
