I was born in Brooklyn, NY to West Indian parents and spent my middle and high school years in Allentown, PA. I attended college in Boston and lived/worked in Washington DC before returning to NYC.
I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. History, music, whisk(e)y, comic books, the drinks industry, fantasy, sci-fi, politics, movies, and travel are among my favorite page turners.
In my free time, such as it is, I am the Deputy Editor of the Whiskey Reviewer web magazine and curator of the Manhattan Whiskey Club (a members-only drinking society). I’ve managed to pair my love of travel and history with my interest in seeing how the spirits and drinks I enjoy actually get made.
In 2019, I released Drink – The Ultimate Cocktail Book (a bit of hyperbole but it is pretty good for a first book if I do say so myself) and I am currently finalizing a book on infused cocktails scheduled for release in 2021.
I feel like there is a lot of use of the pronoun "I" in the above bio. I’ll try to do better next time around.
