Coach Gary Barr's training methods are cutting edge, utilizing much of the newest research in the field of learning. Coach Barr presents them in a way that is easy to understand, revolutionizing how you learn the game:
“These baseball and fastpitch softball hitting guides present all that I have learned from my 25 years of coaching teams and over 7,000 private lessons. Many useful training concepts - gained from sports psychology, motor cognition, focus methods, and the science of speed movements - are practically applied to hitting a ball. Through my many years of coaching hitters of all ages, I identified what works and what doesn’t. I now want to help coaches, parents, and players shorten the learning curve. Follow Building Rome Series step-by-step format to hitting dominance.”
Coach Barr emphasizes how to develop a sense of ownership in hitters:
“The young hitter who focuses on well-defined goals, who observes and corrects their movements, and who has the intense desire to understand the why and how of various fundamentals, mechanics, techniques, and hitting strategies, progress rapidly in their hitting skills.”
Coach Barr began Building Rome Series:
“I wanted to write training guides which would proceed step-by-step through the process of becoming great. The goal was to help kids improve rapidly and keep playing these challenging sports of baseball and fastpitch softball. For sure, the life lessons learned participating in sports help youth go on to lead productive and rewarding lives.”
Gary Barr has been married 37 years and raised three children. Gary lives in Salem, Oregon.
