Kristen Koppers

Kristen Koppers was born Kristen Marie Biksacky (1975 - ) in Oak Lawn, Illinois. At the age of 12, she and her family moved to New Lenox, Illinois where she attended schools and graduated from Lincoln-Way High School in 1993. She attended Western Michigan University and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She continued her education and graduated from Governors State University with a Master of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. For over fifteen years, she taught in the Joliet public school system teaching English at the high school level. Her first book, "Circle" was a self-published book based on her poems and short stories from high school through college, which is no longer in print. Her second book, "Orchards Point," was a novelette focusing on a fiction story about a girl who didn't belong (both published under her maiden name, Kristen Biksacky)). In 2019, she published her first education book focusing on Differentiated Instruction through Edumatch Publishing. In 2014, she won the Great Teacher Award in Will County, Illinois. In 2015, she was recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education as a classroom teacher and group collaboration. In 2015, she was one of the first sixteen recipients for the Great Teacher Award in Will and Grundy Counties
