Luther Allgood

Luther Allgood is a native of Louisiana, born in Minden, and spent most of his school years in Summerfield. He was the son of an auto mechanic and homemaker.

Shortly after marrying Cindy Thompson in 1974, they moved to Junction City, Arkansas, where Cindy lived. Cindy is a registered nurse, and her profession compelled Luther to become a registered nurse. Prior to becoming a nurse, he worked twenty years in the retail grocery business.

By working with many dying patients in various settings, Luther became very familiar with end-of-life behaviors, particularly elderly, dying patients. His fellow employees shared their experiences with patient deaths within the healthcare setting, and enriched his understanding of life after death.

Luther lives in the tiny community of Scotland with his wife. They have three children and five grandchildren. Luther and Cindy enjoy the fellowship of the members of Scotland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and the gathering of many friends at their coffeehouse in Junction City on Saturday morning.
