Author, speaker, and suicide prevention advocate, Elizabeth Stone connects faith-life to real-life. Featured at national conferences, retreats, events, and worship services all over the country, her Bible teaching brings hope and ignites faith. In live events or online classes, her insight and humor help us see ourselves mirrored in the pages of Scripture. Her suicide prevention and recovery workshops equip the church to be spiritual first responders for those who are hurting.
Writing for the hearts of ordinary believers, Elizabeth brings healing truth, gathering her readers into the love of God and His purpose for their lives. Her passion is using her vocation to help others discover their own callings, and find joy in using their gifts.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Elizabeth earned a mathematics degree from Bethany College (WV), spending her junior year abroad in Paris, France at the Sorbonne. After teaching for more than 15 years, she earned a master of divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (NC), was ordained as a minister, and spent twenty-two years as a pastor. She is an advocate for suicide prevention with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and has been a volunteer chaplain in hospice. Reading and writing are her passions, but she also loves music, casual hiking, and cycling on her yellow cruiser. Rev. Stone is married, has five adult children, and eight grandchildren . . . so far.
