Maria Baker

Maria Baker is the founder and CEO of HR Smart, LLC, a human resources consulting company that provides HR management services to small and mid-sized organizations that lack dedicated full-time HR leadership. Maria has more than 20 years in human resources, and has worked for companies within various industries, like manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications, corrections, and education. She thrives on helping companies stay compliant in a forever-changing environment. Her recent professional focus encompasses millennials in the workplace and organizations that are not adapting to the changes necessary to be successful with a millennial-dominated workforce.

Maria is a member of the Millennial Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Georgia Diversity Council and a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). She also volunteers as a Career Coach for Single Mothers Matter, an organization that helps single mothers create self-sufficiency by providing support services, skills training and guidance in pursuing life’s purpose. Maria has facilitated career seminars with the Georgia Department of Labor and has been the guest speaker at various career seminars hosted by Goodwill of North Georgia.

Maria holds a Master’s degree in human resources management, a Bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and an Associate’s degree in business management. She is a Certified Career Coach who helps define, redefine and achieve professional objectives. Maria lives in Conyers, Georgia, with her husband of 24 years and their two daughters. She enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.
