Adam Nicholas Phillips is founding pastor of Christ Church: Portland— an open, active & inclusive community for God’s glory and neighbor’s good. Having been kicked out of his evangelical denomination for LGBTQ inclusion, Adam and Christ Church have been featured in The Atlantic, NPR, The Washington Post, Huffington Post, and TEDx for their message of Christ- centered inclusion and love. An advocate on global poverty and economic justice, Adam previously led faith mobilization for the ONE Campaign and has worked with World Vision on broad-based community transformation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His work around HIV/ AIDS with (RED) was featured on CNN and the 700 Club. Adam is married to Sarah Phillips—a leader in education equity. They live in Portland with their son Desmond and their little dire wolf, Morrissey.
Adam hosts a regular gathering called Public Theology - which explores contemporary topics through a theological lens for the common good. He is a sought after speaker and consultant. Adam is also a student of The Living School for Action & Contemplation.
