Michael Robert Perman

Hello, I'm Michael Perman, Professional Sommelier and Innovation Advisor. I have been certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.

Most of my career has been as an innovation leader working for global food and fashion brands, where I was responsible for helping people perceive what's coming next. I led future scenario planning initiatives for consumer brands such as Levi's, Banana Republic, Gap, Hershey's, Hyatt, Williams Sonoma, and many others.

Since I was a kid, I have been passionate about sensory experiences that delight us. My life and career has been filled with creative ways to change the way people see the practical, tangible, and intangible objects they encounter.

As a Sommelier, I believe every wine experience evokes music, emotion, imagery, friendship, and a bit of intoxicating joy.

My most recent C'EST WHAT? Wine Journal enables you to record your wine experiences with learning prompts so you can remember wines more effectively and make better purchasing decisions in the future. The first part of the first book in the series also provides helpful information about the Bordeaux wine region. That's for the first 30 pages. Then the rest of the book provides templates for you to use. Future books in the series will focus on other regions such as Napa, Italy, Rioja, or New Zealand.

I also wrote a book called CRAVING THE FUTURE, Transforming Your Deepest Desires into New Realities, which offers innovation and creativity methods for work and play. It's quite a prescient book considering how concerned people are about the future.

Most recently, I published EFFERVESCENCE, a Sparkling Wine Guidebook and Journal. This book removes the mystery of buying Champagne and Sparkling Wine by providing detailed ideas and advice. Plus, there are plenty of pages to remember your own sparkling wine experiences.
