Tahseen Paulson was born in Lahore, Pakistan, Her father was a Prince who had moved from Bombay two and a half years prior. She grew up in the house on Aikman Road with her two elder sisters and their half sisters and brother from their father's previous marriage. The house was surrounded by high walls, and locked steel gates were constantly manned, allowing in only a few familiar visitors. The sisters were rarely seen outside these walls and often, even visitors were not allowed to see them. Private tutors came to the house, circumventing the need for them to go to school. This guaranteed that they would have no friends who did not meet their father's approval.
Over time the sisters moved to England, and after meeting her husband in a pub in London, Tahseen moved to Oregon, where she now resides.
She has written two books: The Princesses of Aikman Road & Impoverished Splendor in 2019 and more recently, How to save Money on your next trip to the Grocery Store. In her first book the section titled Impoverished Splendor was written by her sister M M Shamsher Ali. Tahseen's story tells about their life growing up in that house on Aikman Road. Her sister's story tells about the tradesmen from the Northwest Frontier Province who used to come down from their mountain villages in winter to ply their now forgotten trades.
