Born in New York City, McGarvey Black is married with two grown children and lives in Westport, Connecticut. After spending years in advertising, she began seriously writing in 2010. McGarvey loves dogs and eating ice cream with demitasse spoons to make it last longer. Aside from writing, her other passions are traveling to exotic places and having small intimate dinner parties where hopefully nobody gets murdered...but you never know.

Her most recent disappointment— trying to write "murder" and "redrum" on her glass shower doors with her finger while taking a shower. The hope was that they'd appear later on when her husband took a shower. Unfortunately, the glass must have been anti-fog and it ruined her whole day.
