Merry S. Streeter

During the early 70's Jesus-Movement, Merry surrendered her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. She began sharing her faith after the baptism of the Holy Spirit, then at nineteen, was called by God to tell Bible stories to children.

As a small child, she remembers enjoying writing and loved cartooning and sketching animals, especially horses. When a 3rd-grade class applauded a story she wrote & read aloud, she knew then it was the beginning of a dream come true. Merry later enrolled in a correspondence course through The Institute of Children's Literature. She also took courses in art and English at a local community college.

After the church women's director, Bonnie Borden, asked a group of ladies to write something in particular. God gave Merry a story. After reading it aloud in the meeting, women approached her about publishing it as a children's book. Merry illustrated it, and with the help of her talented daughter, Kelly Galusha, brought Merry's drawings to life with digital color and texture. She called it Lolly's Fish Tale; When She Meets A Bully Face to Face and published it as her first children's picture book in 2016. Then was asked again by Bonnie to write a special story for a women's event about a girl meeting a prince. When she did and read it aloud, she was again approached by other women and told she needed to publish that story. She did and called it Apollumi, Journey to The Great King.

Kathy Collard Miller, an award-winning speaker and author of over 50 books, encouraged Merry to create an author page and blog which she has done for the purpose of getting the word out. There's a great need for children to have wholesome and godly stories and for the public to be directed to The Great King!

She continues to share her faith in writing because she says, "Jesus is everything! Someone told me about Him; I must tell others."
