Dawn Gay

Dawn Gay is a Bachelor prepared Registered Nurse, author, and proud mother of twin daughters in the Cleveland, Ohio area. She has served as a hospice nurse for 9 years and finds great fulfillment in caring for patients and families during the transition of life. Dawn is the oldest of five children, and 32 grandchildren. In her position of the family, she holds the responsibility of leading by example, and of encouraging others to be their best. As the mother of twin daughters who are often the minority in their day to day activities, she finds the need to speak life and pride into who they are as Black girls. Taking great pride in her role as a mother, she devotes her time to exposing her daughters to the arts, and activities that promote independence, self esteem, and confidence building. Dawn is committed to building self esteem and courage in young girls and women by speaking words of affirmation and encouragement on a daily basis. She is known by her closest friend to always have an encouraging word and to support and celebrate the growth of Black girls as a whole.
