Jon Ziomek

Jon Ziomek, an associate professor emeritus at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, has been a professional writer for his entire adult life. He's a former Chicago Sun-Times reporter whose assignments ranged from trends in American labor to celebrity interviews. The son of a World War Two pilot, he has had a lifelong interest in aviation. His collaboration with Caroline and Warren Hopkins, who survived the 1977 Canary Islands aviation disaster, resulted in "Collision On Tenerife," an overview of that crash and its aftermath. Jon continues to write, and also volunteers at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
