Mei-Li Lee

Mei-Li Lee is a first generation Chinese-Canadian. Her father immigrated from China to Canada at the beginning of the twentieth century and was forced to pay the discriminatory Head Tax. Her mother did not leave China until 1948 when the Exclusion Act was repealed and less restrictive entry of Chinese into Canada permitted.

"Potlatch Blanket for a China Man" is Mei-Li’s debut story. She lives with her family in Victoria, BC.
