Anne Phinney is a retired elementary and middle school teacher who spends her days in the company of horses, donkeys, goats, llamas, dogs, chickens, geese, tortoises and a pig. She and her husband Rod own Moose River Farm in the Adirondacks of upstate NY. Both of her animal memoirs chronicle the ups and downs of living with a variety of extraordinary creatures who provide lessons in wisdom, patience, love and loss. When not writing, Anne can be found hiking in the woods with a procession of livestock that includes llamas, goats and donkeys. Horseback riding is another favorite activity that is only enjoyed after stalls are mucked, hay is stacked and other daily barn chores are completed. Its a privileged life...that's for sure.
