Bruce Henson

Bruce Henson was born in northwest Wisconsin and enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1976 when he was 17 years old. He enjoyed a successful career of nearly 25 years. Now retired near his hometown in Wascott, Wisconsin he spends his days writing and drawing, working in his wood shop, and photographing the abundant nature that passes his front porch. The author's love of nature from an early age, combined with the steady opportunity to encounter animals in the wild, have somehow given him an incredible ability to "whisper" them to within touching distance. He able to feed several whitetail deer by hand. He somehow "tamed" an entire flock of wild turkeys, a species notoriously difficult to approach. He has been approached by numerous other species whose trust he has gained. Mr. Henson and his wife, Kim, have been married for over 40 years and have 4 grandchildren.
