Judy Davis

Judy Davis has worn many hats in her five -plus decades - kid, student, athlete, cop, attorney, coach, adventurer, middle-aged kid and finally author. She grew up in East Providence, Rhode Island then attended Vermont Academy where she picked up playing lacrosse and soccer along with a high school diploma. She moved on to William Smith College in Geneva, NY where she continued playing varsity soccer and lacrosse while earning a bachelor's degree in political science.

Having absolutely no plan after graduating from college, much to her mother's chagrin, she eventually joined the East Providence Police Department spending six years in the patrol division. During her years on the force she also attended Roger Williams University School of Law earning her Juris Doctorate in 1998. She turned in her badge and went from arresting the bad guys to putting them in jail as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the criminal division of the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General.

After eight years as a prosecutor she moved into the world of financial services and then the title insurance industry. During those stints she was asked to coach high school lacrosse in East Greenwich, R.I. although she hadn't been to a high school lacrosse game sine playing in one in 1980-something.

Bored with all that she hung out a shingle and practiced law for a few years doing mostly criminal defense with a little estate and probate work mixed in. Ultimately the defense side was not for her and she has returned to her roots at the R.I. Department of Attorney General.

In the summer of 2018 she got a crazy idea and decided to ride her bike across the United States - by herself. That adventure is the basis of her first book "Just Keep Going" which came out in the Spring of 2019.
