Charles Springfield

Charles Springfield loves wine and loves people. That's a very important quality to have as a certified sommelier, wine educator and lifestyle expert based in New York City who has taught thousands of people about wine. That love of wine and love of educating people was the inspiration used to write his first wine education book, "The Less Is More Approach to Wine."

In his day-to-day life, he specializes in matching the right wines with the right people and occasions: teaching wine classes, hosting wine events and promoting overall wine appreciation. He knows that walking into a wine store or taking a look at a restaurant wine list can be so stressful that it can give even the most zen person a panic attack. Therefore, as part of a growing number of wine intellectuals and educators around the country, he wants to make wine more accessible and -- more importantly -- fun.

Prior to falling headfirst into the wine business, Charles was an award-winning journalist and public relations executive for several years.

Transitioning into becoming a published wine book author is the culmination of his life’s work — focusing on wine education and appreciation while incorporating the knowledge he garnered by working in the fields of journalism and public relations.

Charles holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree of science degree in Mass Communication and is also certified by the Sommelier Society of America based in New York City.
