Jason Tatlock

I am a pastor-professor, and co-founder of King on a Hill Ministries, with my wife, Krista.

As a scholar, I specialize in the study of the Middle East with expertise in the history and religions of the Southern Levant. The most unique part of my academic career is that I study ancient human sacrifice, teaching courses on the subject and publishing about it. When some people first hear about what I research, it can be surprising and perhaps a bit shocking. In 2019, I was blessed with the opportunity to publish a devotional book for Lent connecting my academic interests with my spiritual passions.

I am excited about our new devotional series: A Word in the Word. The concept is to reflect upon scriptures that contain a key word for 31 days at a time. The first book is called, With: More Than a Word. It was just released in 2026. God's purposes for humanity can be summarized by that simple preposition. The second book is on grace (forthcoming). God bless!
