Jimin Ray

Leila Michelle Engelhardt, better known as Jimin Lee Ray, is a young poet publishing her first book, a collection of poetry, at the age of 15. She started writing poetry at the age of 9 after learning that writing stories wasn’t it for her. She didn’t start to realize her love for poetry until she was 13 when writing her words on paper started to mean more to her than they meant before. Often Leila says she’s not a poet, she’s simply a young teen trying to show people that it’s ok to express your feelings and be vulnerable sometimes. She’s a writer that wants to express that you should always be unapologetically you and not let others drag you down. Leila is the author of Falling From The Sky, an emotional tale as she calls it. A story telling her journey as she grows up and works to become someone that is worth even thinking about. Currently, Leila lives in South Carolina with her family and 3 dogs, studying hard to finish school and save up enough money to go to college to become a Veterinarian, while juggling playing snare in the drumline of her marching band. Leila is currently working on three books she hopes to publish soon.
