From post-traumatic depression to post-traumatic growth, Sama Alabed, learned to find his voice while all was lost. After his father was robbed at gunpoint and shot three times, Sama had to clean all of the blood and take over the reins of his father's business at the age of 17. Shortly after, he began battling multiple auto-immune diseases until it led him to bed rest for months at a time. If you ask him what he is most thankful for, it would be these lessons and the pain incurred. He used his time to delve into as much literature as possible to heal his mind, body, and soul. It was during this time that he remembered how much poetry had moved him during his youth. He has found a way to weave the mental threads of anxiety that occupy our psyche into a comforting fabric that warms our stirring minds. His work has been warmly embraced for many years and his first book has been greatly received. He explores many themes about heartbreak, auto-immunity, stoicism, psychology, philosophy, and love.
