D.C. Adkisson

Donald C. Adkisson was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. He met his wife, Annie Baker, while attending Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Following six years of service in the U.S. Air Force, he began his career in education. He earned his Master's degree from Northern Kentucky University with a concentration in U.S. History.

After being involved in education for thirty-nine years as a teacher, coach, and administrator, he retired in May of 2017 and moved from San Antonio, Texas where he spent twenty-two years at a Christian school in the city. Currently, he lives in Coldspring, Texas where, hopefully, he will be able to concentrate more on his writing.

Since 2001, he has written a daily devotion (which can be found at www.irapaine.com). There are two other novels about the life of Elias Butler that are in the works of being published. He has also published a devotional book.

In June of this year (2019) he will have been married to Annie for forty-eight years. They like to travel this vast, wonderful country. He enjoys going to places so he can get a "feel" of what it might have been like for those pioneers who went on before. Annie and Don have two daughters and four grandchildren. He would tell you that you can't get the mountains out of his blood, but there is certainly no place like Texas.
