My life has changed a wee bit along the way. As a child I wanted to be a banker - in the days when that was a good thing! I was a successful international banker for nearly ten years and fortunate enough to live and work in London, New York and Sydney.

I continued with a finance career leading the EMEA Treasury/Corporate Finance teams and then onto Finance Director positions in the UK for a global IT outsourcer. And then, after various small steps, I realised that it wasn’t all about the money – it’s all about the people! Those numbers only get you so far.

And so I moved into coaching and leadership development...and found a whole new world of work that I love. This work led me into different opportunities (including a PhD at Cranfield University) and then the realisation that leaders can bring coaching into their own skillset without going on a course - they just needed the book. And so Jenny Robinson and I wrote it.
