I am a Kiwi entrepreneur with five successful businesses established over thirty years, the first I established as a kid (I was just 18 years old) and it is still thriving today. That was a fully commercial radio station. Now, I run a successful small consulting firm and an alpaca farm!

In the intervening years I have set up and run businesses in media and entertainment and a social enterprise. I was a Partner in a global consulting firm, called TowersPerrin and now merged to form WillsTowersWatson.

During my career, I have had the privilege of working all over the world; being kidnapped (yes, but it wasn’t that serious); driving through the Borneo jungle as my commute to work; and of course, learning to be effective in the normal office environments of Asia, Europe, America and Africa.

I’ve got passion and boundless energy.

For the last fifteen years I have worked on leadership development and as a mindfulness coach to senior executives. The purpose of mindfulness is to bring new awareness to self, to others, and to situations. Seeing things from a new perspective opens-up a range of different decisions and actions. New thinking and new behaviour arise from being more mindful and, in this way, change can be instant and painless.

My clients include CEO’s of listed companies through to senior managers of global functions. Their issues range from holding more constructive, straight forward conversations with their staff to building a compelling vision around which people will rally. Sometimes they are struggling with a strategic decision that will radically affect the future shape and size of the company, often they are re-designing teams and core processes.

The focus of my work is often concerned with changing mindsets and changing behaviour so that groups of people can work in more agile and effective ways.

Currently, I’m studying for my PhD in Mindful Leadership.
