MALENA VILLAREJO

I was born in Madrid in 1965, although I soon discovered that my true homeland was the clouds: always drifting among fairies, dragons, and impossible worlds. At twenty, I decided that studying fashion design in Milan sounded much better than staying put… so off I went. What began as studies in fashion and comics turned into a long Italian adventure that lasted until 2009. During that time, I did a bit of everything: fashion, events, olive oil production (yes, olive oil), and even shared my life with Neapolitan mastiffs and wild boars. Because, really, who doesn’t need a boar for inspiration?

Back in Spain, my creativity—by then well-trained—decided it was time to dive into storytelling. And here I am, living among pages and fantasies.

I’m extremely scatterbrained (think: walking into the kitchen and forgetting why), cheerful, curious, and hopelessly devoted to sweets… almost as much as I have a visceral hatred for peas (those miniature green enemies). I adore tech gadgets and live surrounded by them as if they were a herd of cats.
