Both of my books, "Camille's How to Blow your Nose Book" and "Camille's How to Wipe Your Bottom Book" are dedicated to my granddaughter Camille.

The subject matter of each book is driven by Camille’s developmental readiness to learn a new skill. As parents we are fortunate to have so many resources that can assist us in creating a positive learning environment and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. As our children grow (no matter what age!) we continue to celebrate their successes and support them through the challenges of life’s lessons. I select topics that are not widely written about but no less important in their journey toward independence.

The preparation for my journey as a children’s author has spanned over my 69 years from many different perspectives.

From a personal perspective my husband (47 years and counting) and I managed to successfully parent 2 healthy, well-adjusted, well-educated kids who are now 38 and 41. They both have “found their way in this world” and have terrific soulmates to continue their journey.

Educationally, I earned an Associate’s degree in Education (Keystone College ’72), a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (Thomas Edison State University ’90) and a Master’s degree in Public Administration (Rutgers University ’94). My Dad earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism (Rutgers University ’49) and influenced my brand (the use of who, what, where, when and how) not only as a “key to quality newspaper reporting” but as a platform for effective teaching and learning as well.

Professionally, I spent the first 25 years of my 40 year public service career working in the field of intellectual disabilities with direct experience and knowledge in the training and curriculum development for individuals with disabilities. Each skill is broken down into tiny steps for successful learning. These techniques are easily transferred to all learners.

My husband Don and I have been happily retired since 2014. That same year both our children married, Jodi (husband Chris) and Jason (wife Gina). In 2017 our precious granddaughter Camille was born. She has changed our lives forever.

There is so much to teach (and learn) with our young loved ones, I invite you to join me on this journey.
