Irma E Sanchez

Irma is an engineer who writes and makes poetry. Her creations have a technical foundation and a vivid and imaginative vision. She is always vigilant to achieve an admirable visual composition. In everything she does, the story that is told is very important.

She fervently believes in all the vicissitudes of the spirit and in a “philosophy” of love that declares it to be the salvation of the world. From a very early age, she showed a special interest in literature and the visual arts. She works in photography, and she is an art curator as a hobby.

In 2015, she created ARTahouse Editorial, a non-profit registered publishing corporation. With ARTahouse she publishes her books and those of other friends, using Amazon's independent publishing resources.

She has specialized in editing, layout, photography, and editorial design, including book covers.

“EXTASIS” 2016 book of poetry in Spanish. It is considered by critics to be delicately passionate, with a romantic voice. It consists of three notebooks that are grouped under the titles: “El Alma Desnuda”, “Mi Pensamiento en Ti” and “Amoroso Universo”.

“BENTESICIME” 2017 poetry, divinely illustrated with poems from many eras and themes deal with different points of view of this mythological character which means the waves of the abyss (mythological character-meaning of the name).

“EL EFECTO DE ENGRANAR” 2018, another poetic proposal, where she managed to show paintings by Juan Felipe Benemelis that appear throughout the entire book; each of them a tribute highlighted by the poems; in such a way that, they not only brilliantly illustrate the work but also gear with its content.

In “RAICES” 2019 the mixture of poetry and essay is achieved. The poems are organized into sections created by visually playing with the letters of the word Raices (meaning roots in English) The book deepens the theme of roots in the world of plants, extending to social roots in general and the Cuban roots in particular. Her black and white photographs illustrated the book making dramatic the theme of roots.

“BAMAE” 2020, was her book of short stories but in Spanish. There she mastered the poetic prose, giving us stories to read as Poe suggested. "BAMAH" 2021 would be not only its translation but her debut in the Anglo world of literature.

"Hermes Trimegistus y su filosofía" 2021 Published with Juan Benemelis, and other.

"Angel al Limite del Amor" 2022 is a cryptic memoir in Spanish of her life taking care of Juan F. Benemelis, her living relationship that ended dealing with an awful sickness.

"El polvo del Sahara no se va con la lluvia" 2024 poetry and poetic prose. It's supossed to end a cycle of beautiful books with plenty of color paintings, photographs and big sizes.

"El libro de Cocina del ASERE" 2025, very nice cookbook dedicate to the people of Miami, and her fellow cubans balseros.

"Al cielo se va sin zapatos, amiga" 2025 it's a compound of poetry, essay and images, dedicated to "Salon de Escritoras Latinoamericanas Fefi Toll" (SEL) about women and for them.

Secret pride in the search for simple perfection in Irma, her personality. She is humble and grateful to poetry. Her prose contains the mystery of poetry; it is entertaining and easy to understand.
