G. A. Finch

G. A. Finch, the son of a psychiatrist, spent most of his childhood in Southern California as one of seven siblings. He credits his being able to write reasonably well to his independent secondary school, the Commonwealth School in Boston - a transformational and rarefied education. His time at Amherst further honed his writing and prepared him for the rigors of law school at the University of Michigan.

As he has spent the majority of his adult working life in Chicago, he considers himself a native of the Windy City.
