Omar Astorga

Omar Astorga nació en Caracas, Venezuela. Desde muy joven mostró su interés por la filosofía y el campo de las humanidades. Disfruta mucho leyendo y observando a la gente donde sea que esté, en una plaza, en el metro, en un café. Siempre cuenta con orgullo haber leído completo uno de los libros más difíciles de Kant de camino al trabajo. Es un lector apasionado de Thomas Hobbes a quien le dedicó su tesis doctoral. Este pensador le sirvió de hilo conductor para el desarrollo de sus investigaciones sobre Locke y Kant. Su libro sobre el pensamiento político moderno le hizo merecedor de premios y reconocimientos en la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Admirador de Baruch Spinoza y Octavio Paz, dos pensadores distantes y a la vez cercanos. Sus ensayos sobre ellos le hicieron merecedor del Premio a la Investigación filosófica Federico Riu. Siempre viajero, de alma cosmopolita, ha acumulado cuentos de nunca acabar. Tiene en cola varios libros por publicar.

Omar Astorga was born in Caracas, Venezuela. From a very young age he showed his interest in philosophy and the field of the humanities. He really enjoys reading and people-watching wherever he is, in a square, in the subway, in a cafe. He always proudly boasts having read one of Kant's most difficult books in its entirety on the way to work. He is a passionate reader of Thomas Hobbes to whom he dedicated his dissertation. This thinker served as a common thread for the development of his research on Locke and Kant. His book on modern political thought earned him awards and recognitions at the Central University of Venezuela. Admirer of Baruch Spinoza and Octavio Paz, two distant and at the same time close thinkers. His essays on them earned him the Federico Riu Prize for Philosophical Research. Always a traveler, with a cosmopolitan soul, he has accumulated never-ending tales. He has several books to be published.
