Joseph Leo III

Joseph Leo III is a Ruby teacher, mentor, event organizer, and community advocate. At various times he has been lead organizer of the Gotham Ruby Conference (GoRuCo), a member of the Technical Advisory Board of the New York Founding, and Ruby on Rails instructor at General Assembly.

Joseph is the founder and CEO of Def Method (www.defmethod.com), a NYC-based software engineering consultancy which he started in 2014. At Def Method Joe applies his mix of engineering muscle, business acumen, enthusiasm for challenges, and technical leadership. Before founding DM, Joe spent over a decade as a developer delivering high-quality software solutions spanning government, education, finance and e-commerce.

Joseph lives in New York City with his wife, Diana, and his adorable daughter, Lucy.
