Sandra I. Kay

When she was seven her answer to the question of what she wanted to be when she grew up was ‘either an art teacher or a psychologist because both help people be happy’. That North Star guided her to realize that one way to help others hold on to happiness is in nurturing curiosity and wonder by following the lead of each child's natural resources, interests, and proclivities.

Sandra I. Kay has a Doctor of Education and Master of Education in Special Education

from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Bachelor and Master of Science in

Art Education. She taught almost all grade levels for 34 years in K-12 education, 20 of them as a District Coordinator of Gifted Programs. This book on developing talents and cultivating expertise comes directly from the work done as a pratitioner/scholar. Although most fortunately there continue to be awards, it is the Lifetime membership pin awarded by the PTA for outstanding service that remains a most treasured recognition.
