Stanley D. Benton

Stanley D. Benton (1932 - ) lives in the Northeastern Kentucky town of Flemingsburg. He is retired from a Fortune 100 corporation where he was a National Product Manager of big ticket, seasonal products. He is married to a classmate at Fleming County High School where both graduated the same year. After military service with the USAF in Korea and Morocco

he obtained degrees in engineering, and afterward, spent five years of university teaching as an Instructor and Assistant Professor. Following the schooling the couple spent most of their

working life in greater Chicago. After retiring he spent 3 years constructing and selling a proprietary data base for the heating and cooling industry, his largest customer was the USDOE.

In retirement Benton has been President of a small town museum, chairman of a county political party, president of Friends of the Library, vice-president of the Board of the same library. He and his wife were season ticket holders of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and later, the Lexington Philharmonic and Cave Run Symphony. They travelled extensively in Europe and South and Central America which was in addition to his Asia, Africa, India and Taiwan travels for business and military. Benton captained ocean-going sailboats in the waters off the Florida Keys, and the American and British Virgin Islands while home port was in Lake Michigan.

SLAUGHTER CHARLIE SIX is Benton's only book. It resulted from a friendship with co-author

Walter Roy Miller who wrote his memoir of Miller's WWII experiences in Italy. Benton promised to try to get it published if he would do the work. He finished in 2007, and sent it to Benton. Prepublishing reviewers of the manuscript have acclaimed it a worthy read. Walter Roy Miller
