Anisha Patel

Anisha I. Patel, MD, MSPH, MSHS, is a Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University. As the Director of Community-Engaged Research in the Maternal and Child Health Research Institute and Associate Dean of Research in the School of Medicine, she is dedicated to promoting child health, with a particular focus on preventing diet-related chronic diseases.

Dr. Patel's research has been featured in major media outlets, including CNN and NPR, and has been supported by prestigious organizations like the National Institutes of Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She has served on influential committees for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Heart Association, shaping child health guidance at local, state, and federal levels. Her work has also been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Outstanding Achievement Award.

Dr. Patel is also a general pediatrician practicing at the Gardner Packard Children’s Health Center. She holds undergraduate, medical, and public health degrees from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, completed her pediatric training at Stanford, and research and policy fellowships at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of California, San Francisco.
