A. J. Foley was born in Melbourne, Victoria. He attended Brunswick High School, Melbourne University, La Trobe University, and RMIT University. He has an Arts Degree and a Graduate Diploma in Information Management, and recently retired from RMIT Library where he was the Inter-library loans librarian. Prior to working in the library he drove cabs for over 12 years, and worked in jobs as varied as Postal Clerk and Pollster. He has written numerous poems, and was a reasonably well-regarded spoken word poet in Melbourne, having been feature reader at many poetry venues. Fairly reclusive, he is reluctant to publish except when invited, but various poems have been published in a number of small publications. He is married to the ambient musician, poet, and artist Whitefeather Light, and lives in the semi-rural northern fringe of Melbourne. Retirement has finally afforded the opportunity to further indulge in a passion for writing.
