Kate Recore came into the world in Tucson, AZ, kicking and screaming as all babies should. The second of four children, she grew up as normally as possible, with a comedian father and well-mannered Southern mother. Her life seemed to be going as planned, until she was blindsided by adult-onset epilepsy at the age of 23. Her personal story, "Brain Storm, An Electrifying Journey," describes her struggle to be properly diagnosed, and to survive with brain disease.
Now living in San Diego, CA, with her husband and their son, Kate teaches reading, creative writing, and public speaking. She coaches a high school debate team and is an award-winning public speaker. She strives to help others find their voices, in the examining room, the classroom, and beyond.
