James G. Longworth

The Author spent his early life in South Devon, England, where he met his first love - The Sea. This early love affair has stayed and shaped much of his life.

Learning to dive before he could swim, he became a guiding light in the sport, travelling and teaching SCUBA diving all over the world.

An Engineer by profession, he spent a long career as a Training Manager, Lecturer, Commercial Diver, and Senior Diving Instructor.

Now retired, he can find time to do all those things he never found time for before. Like hill walking with his wife, reading historical novels, music and theatre, delving into family history, but most of all writing.

He is passionate and fascinated by all aspects of British history and anything to do with the sea and preserving marine life. Having written six full length illustrated articles for sport and hobby magazines, plus numerous short contributions.

He was also a co-author and contributor to a series of six Diver Training Manuals, which were sold world-wide, Sport Diving and Advanced Sport Diving, plus a light-hearted book, Coarse Scuba-Diving, a collection of humorous diving stories.

Not wanting to rest on his laurels, there are three or four other historical and comedic stories in the pipeline, which hopefully will be published soon.
