C P Webster

I was born and grew up in the northwest of England. I set off, aged 16, on my own adventure and moved to South Africa. I was variously a clerk, a factory worker, an art student, a photographer's assistant, a writer, and a lecturer in photography.

After returning to Britain, I worked in London for two years as a teacher and then became a lecturer in Fine Art in Wales. I was a lecturer in Wales for 25 years before taking early retirement. Since 2021 I have focussed on writing fiction.

As a reader, I have long been interested in a broad range of writing from fiction to fantasy/science fiction, apocalyptic and dystopian fiction. Writers of particular interest have been J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Alan Garner, John Wyndham, Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, John Christopher, Clark Ashton Smith, Fritz Leiber, Ursula Le Guin, M. R. James, Colin Wilson, Robert Bloch, Robert Westall, and of course, H. P. Lovecraft...
