Ashley D. Polasek

Ashley D. Polasek is an internationally recognized expert on Sherlock Holmes, traveling all over the world, from Los Angeles to Istanbul, from Oxford to Amsterdam, to give talks and do research on one of literature’s best known, best-loved characters. She holds a PhD in the study of adaptations of Sherlock Holmes, and has published widely on all aspects of Holmes on screen.

In her spare time, Ashley trains and competes in Historical European Martial Arts, specializing in Medieval German Longsword and Bolognese Sidesword.

Ashley teaches English in South Carolina, where she lives with her Wheaten Terrier, Jekyll, and her husband, Mr. Hyde.
