Georgia Rucker

Georgia Rucker is an illustrator as well as art director and graphic designer. The most recent kid/tween books she's illustrated include: GIRL CEO, GIRL ACTIVIST, MY FAVORITE SHOES, MY FAVORITE PURSE, and BEAD-DAZZLED. She loves deploying pop-y colors and lively lines to make books engaging for kids and adults. Along with illustrating, she's a long-time graphic designer and has designed a treasure trove of books including: many DC Super Heroes kids' books; PBS KIDS books and kits including the LOOK AND LEARN series; the HAIRSPRAY (Broadway show) coffee table book; a book called SURFER GIRL; EARTH DIET; KARDASHIAN KONFIDENTIAL; some of her dad, Rudy Rucker's, book covers including MAD PROFESSOR and HACKER AND THE ANTS; the doodle-filled OFFICIAL GLEE HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK; and many more. Her first book design gig ever was THE HAPPY MUTANT HANDBOOK which kicked off her love of the mid-century design vibe. She also enjoys art-directing other illustrators, as on MY FIRST BOOK OF FEMINISM (for Boys), and BABY'S FIRST EAMES. Jumping between illustrating and designing and art-directing keeps Georgia's vision fresh, fun, and well-balanced. After living in NYC for 13 years, she now resides in Madison, WI, where she continues to work with publishers in New York as well as elsewhere.
